EMAS - The Sign and its Meaning
The EMAS sign stands for:
- voluntary, active efforts on the part of a company - such as Werner & Mertz, to continually improve - beyond legal requirements - their performance for the environment.
- a functional environment management system, by which the goals set by Werner & Mertz can be realized
- the credibility of information put out by Werner & Mertz in its statement on the environment. An independent certified environment expert has attested to its validity!
The registration is carried out by the IHK Pfalz, and the EMAS sign is recognized throughout Europe, having been created by the European Union. Werner & Mertz was one of the first middle-sized companies dealing in cleaning agents and detergents which was certified by EMAS and has passed the annual audit every year
