NABU and FROSCH: FROSCH protects Frogs - The Meadows of the Rhine River

Will there soon be frog concerts in the meadows of the Rhine River?
NABU and FROSCH start the joint venture "FROSCH protects frogs"
It has become quiet in the meadows of the Rhine River. That, at any rate, is the opinion of the experts on meadows of NABU in Rheinland-Pfalz with reference to the flooded area between Mainz and Bingen. The rare European tree frog was found in that area up until the seventies. But the narrowing of the meadows and the intensive use and drying up of the waters have been the bane of the European tree frog.
Together with the brand name FROSCH, environmental protectionists are now campaigning for the extensive protection of Rhine meadows. The Department of Conservation considers this kind of cooperation between commerce and conservation exemplary, especially with regard to a better appreciation of conservation by the public.
For the brand FROSCH, which is at home in Mainz on the edge of the Rhine Meadows, this engagement at their own doorstep is important. In accordance with the motto "FROSCH protects frogs" the company considers it its duty to campaign for the protection of real frogs in nature. At the same time Reinhard Schneider, the owner of the concern that produces FROSCH products, emphasizes that his company’s ecological engagement doesn’t stop outside the works premises but also includes the company’s environmentally-friendly FROSCH products. But not even Mr. Schneider is able to predict when the real namesake will return to the meadows of the Rhine.
The conservationists on the ground hope that the tiny frog will return within a few years but are dependent on broad public support in the region.
